Did you know there are lots of different kinds of sunflowers? Some are good for "people seeds" (the kind we like to snack on). Some are good for birds, and they are usually all black. Some are good for pressing to make sunflower seed oil. |
There's a recipe in the back of Kansas Katie. It will be lots easier if you buy seed that are already taken out of the shells. |
Lots of museums have interesting exhibits about the pioneers. |
If you can get some big paper, make one big enough to go on your bedroom door! You could use crayons or markers, too. |
You may find something fun you can do yourself! |
| Draw your own pictures of Kansas
Katie and Buttercup. Can you imagine them in other places? What about where they came from out East? |
