These photos were taken between 1882 and the early 1900s. Some of the oldest ones are tintypes. Some have damage caused by age and mishandling, such as spots and scratches. People are not smiling in the photos because the exposures were very long and they had to hold very still. Izzie told us they had brightly colored clothes. Can you imagine these people laughing and smiling and dressed in colorful fashions? |
